REPORTING BIRD FEEDER
My idea comes from my love of bird watching, something I inherited from my parents. I just liked the idea of starting a data base of what birds are in my garden, but after having spoken to a few people realised that there is also an interest in recording the bird songs.
My idea is essentially to have a bird feeder, with;
1. Weight sensors to let you know when the food is finished
2. Motion sensors to activate the raspberry pi camera
3. Camera upload to a personal data base - which can later be shared
4. Sound recorder that is only activated by the camera
In this way I believe it would become easier to identify the birds in your garden, area, and then start tracking bird movements.
WEEK 02
PROJECT CONCEPT CONTINUED
I started looking at my idea and how it would actually work in real life application terms, and so I started adjusting and changing the concept to ensure best results.
In the 2D CAD project for week 02 I set up the below diagram, to show components and how I think the feeder should be built up.
As you can see the design is now round with clear material, I thought the photos would have more light and a nicer background than a wooden box. I then started looking at 3D CAD programmes such as fusion 360, and this is where I am currently with my design.
